About Me

Let me introduce myself. My name is Brian Williams.I was born in Vancouver, Washington. I got my first job when I was 14. I started working on a dairy farm. I really enjoyed that type of work. I farmed for 4 years until my boss decided to sell his farm, so I decided I would join the Marine Corp. On September 19th 1994 I went to Marine Recruit Depot, San Diego for 13 weeks of boot camp. On December 9th I graduated boot camp and reported to Naval Air Station, Memphis Tennessee. I attended Avionics Technician School for 9 months learning how to do all types of electrical repairs. In September of 1995 I was transfered to HMT-303 FREST (Fleet Replacement Enlisted Skills Training) to recieve more in-depth training on the AH-1W and UH-1N avionics systems. After I graduated FREST, I reported to the WORLD FAMOUS VIPERS OF HMLA-169. I have slowly progressed in my skills as an avionics technician and am now a Collatoral Duty Inspector...AKA Supervisor. During my time in the Marine Corp I have seen many things and been many places. I have been to 2 Combined Arms Excercises (CAX) in Twenty-Nine Palms, which really really suck, participated in one Weapons and Tactics Instruction (WTI) in Yuma, Arizona. On November 20,1996 I transfered to HMM-161 Reinforced to take part in the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU). As part of the MEU we were assigned to the U.S.S. BOXER (LHD-4). During the 6 months that we were aboard the Boxer we experianced many things. Our first port visit was to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. After that we went to Hong Kong. It was a great experiance going to Hong Kong because we were the last US forces to visit that country because of the switch back to communisim. After Hong Kong we went to Singapore, Thailand, and Jordan. While in Jordan we participated in Operation Infinate Moonlight with the Royal Jordanian Air Force for 30 days. After Jordan we sat off the coast of Etheopia for a week providing humanitarion assistance to the locals. From there we prepared to transit through the Straits of Hormuz at the entrance to the Persian Gulf. Fortunately the transit was uneventful and we stopped in the United Arab Emirates for the 4th of July. The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders were there to keep us entertained. After U.A.E. we sat in the Gulf for 42 days participating in operation Sothern Watch, patroling the Iraqi No-Fly Zone. After 42 days we headed to Bali, Australia and finally headed for home. On the 23rd of September we returned to Camp Pendleton, Ca and became part of the WORLD FAMOUS VIPERS again. That is about all I have done in my four years in the Marine Corp. Some of the things I like to do in my spare time is mess around on my computer, ride my motorcycle (1992 Kawasaki ZX-6) and ride horses. I hope you enjoy my pictures and I should be updating my site soon.
